Yokozuna Terunofuji won the last tournament and it had a direct affect on my Terunofuji t-shirt sales! This was the first time that a world event like that had a direct impact on my business. It was quite amazing.

My niece gave me a great idea to expand the merchandising of my sumo portraits. I have printed 5 of my sumo portraits onto ceramic tile coasters. They have arrived and they look great! (top, l-r: Terunofuji, Takayasu, Tachiai. Bottom, l-r: Asanoyama, Tokushoryu)
Every time I’m faced with a blank canvas the words of my mom come back to me: Just put down something so you have something to work with. Those words were said to me while I was in high school struggling with paper writing, but I think they apply to my painting practice as well. So I’m just putting something down. Thanks, mom.
Just returned from the printer and got this Asanoyama giclée which will be headed to Virginia. Does this make me an international artist now? Or maybe just a continental North American artist?
